Terms of Service

Last updated: April 20, 2026 · Governing law: Belgium

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Cronengine (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Cronengine is operated by [YOUR COMPANY NAME], VAT number [YOUR VAT NUMBER], Belgium ("we", "us", or "our").

2. What the Service does

Cronengine is a scheduling service that allows you to configure cron-based jobs and trigger HTTP requests or similar automated actions according to your configuration.

You are solely responsible for the jobs you create, the target endpoints you configure, the data sent through those requests, and the consequences of those executions.

3. Eligibility and authority

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. Accounts and account security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us promptly if you become aware of unauthorized access or suspicious activity.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and only in connection with systems, URLs, endpoints, and data that you own, control, or are authorized to use. You agree not to:

  • Send requests to endpoints you do not own, control, or have permission to call.
  • Use the Service to conduct, support, or automate attacks, spam, abuse, scraping in violation of law or contract, credential stuffing, denial-of-service activity, or other harmful behavior.
  • Attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits, scheduling limits, or other technical restrictions.
  • Upload, configure, or transmit malicious code, unlawful content, or data you are not entitled to process.
  • Probe, scan, reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
  • Use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law, regulation, third-party right, or contractual obligation.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access immediately if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms or creates risk for us, our users, or third parties.

6. User responsibility for jobs, endpoints, and data

You are fully responsible for reviewing and validating your own job configurations, schedules, retry logic, target URLs, request headers, payloads, authentication secrets, and downstream handling.

Cronengine does not review the legality, accuracy, safety, or appropriateness of the endpoints you configure or the actions triggered by your jobs.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with applicable privacy, data protection, security, and communications laws.

7. Availability and service levels

We aim to provide a reliable service, but the Service is offered on a best-effort basis unless we explicitly agree otherwise in writing.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, exact execution timing, successful delivery, or successful processing by third-party systems.

Job execution may be affected by maintenance, software defects, infrastructure issues, rate limits, network problems, third-party downtime, DNS failures, TLS issues, endpoint errors, or other factors outside our reasonable control.

Free plans may be rate-limited, deprioritized, delayed, or suspended during high-load periods. Paid plans improve limits and service levels but do not create a guaranteed SLA unless we explicitly say so in writing.

8. Billing, subscriptions, and refunds

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe or another payment provider we may use.
  • By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method for recurring fees, taxes, and any other applicable charges.
  • Unless stated otherwise, prices are shown excluding VAT and other applicable taxes.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.
  • Except where required by law or where we expressly agree otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable and partial billing period refunds are not provided.
  • If a payment fails, we may retry collection, suspend paid features, downgrade your plan, or suspend the account until payment is resolved.

Questions about billing can be sent to support@cronengine.com.

9. Suspension and termination

  • By you: You may stop using the Service and cancel your account at any time.
  • By us for cause: We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for breach of these Terms, suspected abuse, illegal activity, non-payment, or security risk.
  • Operational protection: We may suspend jobs, rate-limit traffic, or disable specific configurations that threaten the stability, security, or reputation of the Service.

Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued before termination.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, branding, design, code, and related materials, remains our property or the property of our licensors.

You retain your rights in your own data, configurations, and content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to host, process, transmit, and use that data solely as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We make no warranty or representation that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or suitable for your specific use case, or that jobs will always execute exactly as scheduled or produce the outcome you expect.

We do not warrant the availability, behavior, security, legality, compatibility, or reliability of any third-party endpoint, infrastructure provider, payment provider, DNS provider, email provider, or other external dependency.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or the cost of substitute services.

We are also not liable for losses arising from failed or delayed executions, duplicate executions, malformed requests, endpoint downtime, third-party errors, incorrect configuration by you, unauthorized access caused by your own security failures, or misuse of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (i) the total amount paid by you to us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) €50.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your jobs, your configured endpoints, your data, or your breach of these Terms.

14. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you by email, through the dashboard, or by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Belgian law.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be submitted to the competent courts of Belgium, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

If you have a concern, please contact us first at support@cronengine.com so we can try to resolve it informally.
